About

I graduated from Marymount University in 1997 and received my LPC licensure in 2000. I am also certified in EMDR therapy.

I specialize in treating trauma, substance abuse, anxiety disorders—including generalized and social anxiety—and depression. My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).

I work with clients ages 16 and older and believe deeply in the human capacity for healing and transformation. I believe there is no darkness where light cannot shine, and that therapy has the power to create lasting and meaningful change.

On a personal note, I am the proud parent of four children who were born in my heart. Outside of my practice, I enjoy kayaking, exercising, cooking, knitting, and spending time outdoors.

Frequently asked

I work with teens (ages 16 and older) and adults who are experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. Whether you're facing a recent life challenge or working through experiences from the past, I provide a supportive environment where healing and personal growth can take place.
Yes. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. EMDR can be effective for many people living with PTSD, childhood trauma, distressing life events, and other trauma-related symptoms. During our initial sessions, we'll determine whether EMDR is an appropriate part of your treatment plan.
I believe therapy should be personalized to meet each client's unique needs and goals. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Together, we'll identify unhelpful patterns, build practical coping skills, and develop strategies that help you create meaningful, lasting change.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, review your personal history, and identify the goals you'd like to accomplish. My priority is to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and beginning your healing journey.
After more than 25 years as a psychotherapist, I've seen firsthand that people are capable of remarkable healing and transformation. I believe that no matter how overwhelming life may feel, growth is possible with the right support. My role is to help you better understand your experiences, recognize your strengths, develop effective coping skills, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life at a pace that feels right for you.
