About
I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I treat a vast array of conditions and symptoms, including anxiety, depression, couples counseling, family conflict and family therapy and parenting, parenting training, premarital counseling, divorce, LGBTQ+, grief and loss, medical conditions and concerns, significant life transitions, trauma, OCD, grief, and spirituality. I work with individuals of all ages, including children 6+, adolescents, teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families. Using several modalities for treatment based on your goals.
I use ACT therapy, DBT, CBT, specialized medication practices (contemplative therapy), art therapy, narrative therapy, play therapy, person-centered, EFT, somatic therapy, and Christian counseling. My focus is always to guide clients through their emotions with acceptance, patience and compassion towards self.
Amanda works out of our Old Town Alexandria office.
