About

My primary mission is to empower individuals to overcome these difficulties and break free from the constraints of limiting beliefs. I'm passionate about helping my clients cultivate self-compassion, develop the necessary skills to navigate life's stressors, and build confidence in their resilience.

My therapeutic journey begins with the power of storytelling. I firmly believe that understanding the "why" is the key to bringing about meaningful change and personal growth. By carefully examining the biopsychosocial, developmental, and traumatic factors that contribute to how clients feel, think, and behave in ways that may not serve them well, we can collaboratively rewrite their narratives to align with their authentic values and true selves. Many clients may grapple with shame and self-blame when they lack this understanding. I offer a safe and nurturing environment to explore these emotions together.

My therapeutic style is interactive, marked by empathy, non-judgment, and honesty. I'm committed to a goal-oriented approach, one that empowers my clients to drive the change they seek within themselves. I draw from a diverse toolkit, combining elements of psychodynamic and person-centered therapy and incorporating techniques and modalities from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral (DBT), and Attachment-based therapy.

My background is multicultural, and I provide empathetic and compassionate support to clients from all walks of life. My experience extends to working with individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relational issues, family conflicts, grief, and mood disorders. My clinical interests also encompass gerontology and geriatrics, where I work with individuals, couples, adults, and seniors facing short-term and long-term life challenges.

If you're ready to embark on a journey toward personal growth and enhanced well-being, please contact me. I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's begin this transformative journey together.

I earned my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University.

I am a Resident in Counseling working under the supervision of Carissa Martin.

Nadine does in-person therapy out of our Old Town and Vienna offices.

Frequently asked

I work with adults, couples, and seniors experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, relationship difficulties, family conflict, mood disorders, and life transitions. I also have a special interest in working with older adults and helping individuals navigate both short-term challenges and long-term emotional concerns. My goal is to provide compassionate, individualized care that helps each client move toward greater well-being and resilience.
I believe meaningful change begins with understanding your story. Together, we'll explore the experiences, relationships, and life events that have shaped the way you think, feel, and respond to challenges today. My approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and tailored to your individual needs. I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attachment-based therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and person-centered therapy to help you build practical coping skills while developing greater self-awareness and self-compassion.
Many people struggle with self-criticism or feel defined by past experiences. In therapy, we'll work together to better understand the factors that have influenced your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while challenging limiting beliefs that may be holding you back. My goal is to help you develop healthier ways of relating to yourself, strengthen your confidence, and recognize your ability to navigate life's challenges with resilience.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what has brought you to therapy. We'll discuss your current concerns, personal history, relationships, and the goals you'd like to accomplish. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences at your own pace while we develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and values.
Yes. My multicultural background has shaped my commitment to providing culturally responsive and compassionate care for individuals from all walks of life. I recognize that every person's experiences, identity, family dynamics, and cultural influences are unique. My goal is to create a respectful therapeutic relationship where your values, experiences, and perspective are understood and incorporated into your treatment, allowing us to work together toward meaningful and lasting growth.
