Frequently asked

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are navigating a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem, suicidal ideation, substance use, and high-risk psychosis in teens. Whether you're facing a recent life challenge or have been struggling for years, my goal is to provide a supportive space where you can begin moving toward healing.
I believe therapy should be tailored to each person's unique experiences and goals. I use an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach and draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mode Deactivation Therapy (MDT), EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based practices. Together, we'll find the approaches that best support your growth and help you build practical skills for everyday life.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, discuss your personal history and current concerns, and identify the goals you'd like to work toward. My priority is creating a safe, welcoming environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. There is no pressure to tell your whole story during the first appointment.
Trauma affects everyone differently, which is why I take a personalized and compassionate approach to treatment. I work to help clients understand how past experiences may be affecting their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily life while teaching healthy coping skills to reduce distress. When appropriate, I also incorporate EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches to help clients safely process difficult experiences and move toward healing.
Finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of the therapy process. I strive to build a trusting, collaborative relationship where you feel heard, respected, and supported. During our first few sessions, we'll explore your goals and make sure my approach feels like a good fit for your needs. If another provider would better support your goals, I believe it's important that you find the therapist who is the best match for you.
