About

Previously, I completed a master’s degree in project management at George Washington University. I supported government contracts for 20 years and decided to make a positive contribution on an individual level. During my internship, I worked with adult individuals and couples who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, relationship problems, bipolar disorder, grief, life transitions, adjustment issues, marriage problems, and substance use. In addition, I conducted group counseling. I have Gottman Level 1 and 2 couples counseling training.

My therapy philosophy centers on the belief that people are not defined by diagnosis or dysfunction. I see the therapeutic process as non-linear, sometimes uncomfortable, yet ultimately transformational when founded on a strong alliance between therapist and client. Through collaboration, exploration, and introspection, clients can gain a deeper understanding of themselves, shaped by both internal and external influences. I strive to provide unconditional care, support, and empathy in a non-judgmental environment, honoring each person’s unique path. Even small shifts in thoughts or behaviors can spark positive change. Ultimately, therapy aims to help individuals live with greater congruence, deeper insight, and self-awareness, fostering skills for self-healing, inner peace, and restored wellness.

My approach emphasizes authenticity and clients' individual needs; therefore, I prioritize an integrative approach that incorporates various modalities. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic, person-centered, emotionally focused, and Gottman therapies. Moreover, I benefit from art interventions. I conduct sessions in person and via telehealth.

Frequently asked

I work with adults and couples experiencing a variety of mental health and relationship concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use, bipolar disorder, relationship difficulties, marriage concerns, life transitions, and adjustment challenges. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and develop healthier ways of navigating life's challenges in a supportive and collaborative environment.
I believe people are much more than a diagnosis or the challenges they face. My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to each client's unique needs rather than relying on a single treatment method. Depending on your goals, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method couples therapy, and creative art interventions. Together, we'll work toward greater self-awareness, emotional healing, and lasting personal growth.
Yes. I enjoy working with couples who want to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, rebuild trust, or navigate conflict. I have completed Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2 training, which provides evidence-based tools to help couples improve connection, resolve disagreements more effectively, and build healthier, more satisfying relationships. Whether you're dating, engaged, married, or facing significant relationship challenges, therapy can help you move forward together.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discuss what brings you to therapy. We'll explore your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals while answering any questions you may have about the counseling process. I strive to provide a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and where we can begin developing a treatment plan that reflects your individual needs and values.
Yes. I provide both in-person therapy at our McLean office and secure telehealth appointments. Offering both options allows you to choose the format that best fits your schedule, comfort level, and lifestyle. Whether you prefer meeting face-to-face or from the convenience of your home, my goal is to provide consistent, compassionate care that supports your journey toward healing, self-understanding, and emotional well-being.
