Frequently asked

I work with children ages 4 and older, adolescents, adults, and veterans. Over the past 25 years, I've helped individuals facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, grief, anger management, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), substance use, adjustment disorders, and behavioral challenges. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that meets each person's unique needs.
Yes. Trauma treatment is one of my primary areas of expertise. I have extensive experience helping individuals recover from traumatic experiences, including veterans and women who have experienced Military Sexual Trauma (MST). I utilize evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), STAIR (Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients process trauma, strengthen emotional regulation, and move toward healing.
I believe therapy should be collaborative, individualized, and grounded in evidence-based practices. Depending on your goals and concerns, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), STAIR, and other proven therapeutic approaches. Together, we'll identify your strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful improvements in your emotional well-being and daily life.
Yes. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with individuals experiencing both mental health conditions and substance use concerns. I understand that these challenges often occur together, and treatment is most effective when both are addressed. My goal is to help clients better understand the factors contributing to their struggles while developing healthier coping skills and long-term strategies for recovery.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discuss what brought you to therapy. We'll review your current concerns, personal history, and treatment goals while exploring the challenges you'd like to address. I strive to create a supportive, respectful environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in the treatment process. Together, we'll develop a personalized plan that helps you move toward the goals that are most important to you.
