About

Harlee Williams, formerly Onovbiona. I am a clinical psychology resident currently working under clinical supervision and actively completing my licensure requirements. I received my doctorate from the University of Arkansas and completed further training specializing in autism spectrum disorder at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Children’s National Hospital. Over the course of my journey, I offer years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults. The majority of my experience has been working providing autism, ADHD, & psychological evaluations and working with clients who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, depression, behavioral problems, identity exploration, relationship issues, women’s issues, mood dysregulation, ethnic/cultural background, and life transitions.

I use a variety of different therapeutic approaches depending on each client’s needs. I focus on strength-based therapy, neurodiversity affirming therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-informed therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I am also trained in behavioral interventions including RUBI and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

I am a clinical psychologist, but I am also a human, mother, wife, and advocate for minoritized individuals and the clients that I am serving. I am a believer that you are the expert in your own life, so I strive to create a safe, comfortable, collaborative, and judgment-free environment where I can support you in your journey in reaching your personal goals, building your skills, and increasing your confidence in managing the challenges of life. I would love to work with you if you think I would be a good fit for you!

Dr. Williams works out of our McLean office and offers telehealth sessions.

Frequently asked

I work with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns. My areas of experience include autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, mood dysregulation, identity exploration, relationship concerns, life transitions, and cultural or ethnic identity issues. I strive to provide individualized care that recognizes each person's strengths while helping them navigate the challenges they are facing.
Yes. I have specialized training in autism spectrum disorder from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Children's National Hospital, and much of my clinical experience has focused on autism, ADHD, and comprehensive psychological evaluations. Evaluations can help clarify diagnoses, identify strengths and areas of need, and provide recommendations that support treatment planning, school accommodations, and everyday functioning for children, adolescents, and young adults.
My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and neurodiversity affirming. I believe every individual brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives to therapy. Depending on your goals, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed therapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral interventions such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and RUBI. Together, we'll develop a treatment plan that fits your individual needs and builds practical skills for long-term success.
Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discuss what brings you or your child to treatment. We'll review your concerns, relevant history, strengths, and goals while answering any questions you have about the therapy or evaluation process. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where you feel respected, understood, and actively involved in developing a plan that meets your unique needs.
Yes. I provide in-person appointments at our McLean office as well as secure telehealth sessions. Offering both options allows families and individuals to choose the format that best fits their schedules, comfort level, and needs. Whether we meet in person or virtually, my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that helps you build confidence, develop new skills, and make meaningful progress toward your personal goals.
