Swan Therapy Group

Swan Therapy Group is a family-focused practice with a primary goal of finding solutions that work for each individual, helping them discover their potential and create a meaningful life path. They provide counseling for children and adolescents at any developmental level, including therapeutic art and play therapy. Their therapists use creative mediums to help clients learn life skills and express feelings about daily life events. Common themes include processing change, divorce, bullying, social rejection, grief, anxiety, and gender identity. The practice also offers counseling for adults and families, as well as parenting support for parents to manage their child's behaviors. With four locations in Ocean County, Swan Therapy Group aims to create a safe and supportive atmosphere for their clients. Founded by Melissa Schwaner, MSW, LCSW, in 2019, the practice is committed to helping individuals and families in the community. Melissa, a recipient of the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Award, is a proud practice owner and has been working with children, adolescents, and young adults for her entire career. She is currently not accepting new clients but is giving back to the community by supervising clinicians within the practice. Swan Therapy Group's team includes certified therapists and a Registered Therapy Dog named Charlie, who is a Morkie and enjoys spreading love to clients.
