With over 30 years of experience in counseling individuals since 1988, she provides counseling services to residents, college students, and visitors in seven states. Lisa is the owner of The Taylor-Austin Group, LLC and treats individuals aged 18 and above. Her approachable, caring, and friendly demeanor makes her a preferred choice for many clients. She specializes in treating anxiety, covert narcissistic abuse, gangs, perfectionism, negative thinking, trauma, and panic. Lisa uses various counseling approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. She is an active professional counselor who engages with her clients, providing suggestions and guiding them to solutions. Lisa is a licensed professional counselor in Connecticut and Colorado, a licensed mental health counselor in New York state and Rhode Island, a licensed mental health counselor out-of-state telehealth provider in Florida, and a licensed clinical professional counselor in Maine and Vermont. She is also a board-certified National Certified Counselor and a board-certified Forensic Behavioral Analyst. Lisa has a Master of Science in Counseling from the State University of New York at Brockport and a Bachelor of Science in Developmental and Behavioral Disabilities. She has completed Parts 1 and 2 of EMDR training and is a full member of EMDRIA. Lisa has been a professional counselor since 1988 and has worked as a forensic expert witness since 1997. She has been trained in areas of psychopathology, crisis intervention, and active shooters. Lisa is a professional member of the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association (former), and EMDRIA. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Forensic Social Sciences Association in San Francisco, California, and is an Associate Member of the Florida Gang Investigator's Association.
