About pediatric therapy in the US

The largest verified directory of pediatric therapists in the United States.

Therapy Solutions lists 1,032 licensed pediatric providers across all 50 states - covering speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, ABA, physical therapy, mental health, feeding, and early intervention. Every listing is checked against state-board licenses and the NPI registry, and re-verified each month.

Frequently asked by parents

How do I choose a pediatric therapist for my child?
Start with three things: credentials (state license + relevant certification - e.g. CCC-SLP for speech, OTR/L for OT, BCBA for ABA), specialty fit for your child's diagnosis or concern, and whether the therapist takes your insurance. Most families on Therapy Solutions shortlist 3 providers, book free 15-min intro calls with each, and decide from there.
What's the difference between OT and PT?
Occupational therapy (OT) helps a child do the activities of daily life - handwriting, dressing, feeding, regulating sensory input, fine-motor tasks. Physical therapy (PT) focuses on gross-motor skills - crawling, walking, balance, strength, gait. Some kids work with both.
Does my insurance cover pediatric therapy?
Most major plans (Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United) cover medically-necessary pediatric speech, OT, PT, and behavioral health - typically with a copay and a prior-authorization requirement. Medicaid covers all five specialties in most states.
What age should my child start speech therapy?
There is no minimum age - early intervention programs (birth–3) and pediatric SLPs work with infants and toddlers. If your pediatrician has flagged a concern, or your child isn't hitting language milestones, it's reasonable to seek an evaluation.
How long does pediatric therapy take?
It varies widely - articulation work might wrap in 6–9 months; sensory-integration OT or ABA programs can run 1–3 years. Most therapists do a formal evaluation, set goals, and re-assess every 6 months so you can see measurable progress.
Can my child do online (telehealth) therapy?
Yes - most speech and mental-health providers offer telehealth, and many OTs offer hybrid programs. ABA, PT, and feeding therapy are usually in-person or hybrid.
