The Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice (IDRPP) at Utah State University is Utah’s federally designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). It is currently a collection of four divisions and more than 160 projects related to disability, within Utah and nationwide. The Institute (then called the Exceptional Child Center) was established in 1972 by Dr. Marvin Fifield, and was the first UCEDD program in the nation to focus on the educational and social needs of children with disabilities. IDRPP offers services such as the Bridgerland Literacy, Cache County Maternal, Infant & Early Childhood Visiting Program, Center for Mental Health Promotion, Employability Clinic, Healthy Relationships, Learn the Signs, Act Early, South East Early Intervention, Stride Services, Top Sports, Up to 3, and Utah Assistive Technology Program. They primarily serve individuals and families in Utah, with a focus on early intervention and disability research. IDRPP is located in Logan, UT, and can be contacted at (435) 797-1981.
