The Arbor School is a nonprofit organization established in 1988 that offers the most comprehensive special needs education program in Houston for children and young adults with a wide range of developmental delays, from 6 weeks through age 22. Through its mission, The Arbor strives to educate, empower, and build hope for children with significant special needs and their families. The Arbor School is a tax-exempt organization with 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service and receives no government or United Way funding. The school's program is designed to meet a wide range of needs for children through age 18, with a focus on early intervention services and individualized education for children with severe disabilities. The Arbor holds strong to the belief that each child has an enormous capacity to develop and learn to the best of his or her abilities, and strives to create a space where all children can thrive and reach their greatest level of personal success.
