Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL) is an organization dedicated to serving athletes in all 102 counties in Illinois. Region I Tuscola, serves a total of 18 counties – Champaign, Christian, Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Logan, Macon, Moultrie, Piatt, Shelby, and Vermilion. Events include Region Qualifier, with gold medalists advancing to the State Championships. Region I is overseen by a Region Director, along with additional team members responsible for sports programming, fundraising campaigns, outreach, communication, and education initiatives. SOILL is committed to providing athletes the opportunity to gain skills and confidence, inspiring them to reach their full potential.
