At NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), we are committed to providing the best possible services to the individuals and families of New York with developmental disabilities. We are a state-run agency responsible for coordinating services, such as intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, Prader-Willi syndrome, and other neurological impairments. We provide these services through a network of approximately 500 nonprofit service providing agencies, with 80% of services provided by the private nonprofits and 20% provided by state-run services. Our goal is to ensure that all New Yorkers with developmental disabilities have the resources and support they need to lead fulfilling and productive lives.
