Dr. Ghanem-Ybarra's work with clients includes helping them to increase/enhance their belief in themselves, take stock of their own abilities and recognize that they have choices. She encourages her clients to draw on their existing coping skills and abilities, and build on those skills to help them achieve the changes they seek. Dr. Ghanem-Ybarra sees her role as partner, walking side by side with her clients on their journey. She is Certified in EMDR Therapy and skilled in providing culturally sensitive therapy working with multicultural populations. Dr. Ghanem-Ybarra enjoys working with adults, older teens, families, and providing group therapy. She specializes in helping clients with anxiety, trauma and PTSD, and utilizes a variety of techniques including relaxation and meditation, stress inoculation, communication exercises, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to process disturbing, stressful events, and traumas of a variety of intensities.
