The Hancock County Board of Developmental Disabilities, locally known as Blanchard Valley Center, is the first point of contact for providing cradle-to-grave support for individuals with developmental disabilities in Hancock County. They take pride in providing people with the greatest opportunities for community inclusion in all aspects of their lives – education, employment, residential, and social. Their ultimate goal is to make sure that every person they support experiences the most fulfilling life possible. They have established a Smart House for individuals with developmental disabilities to trial as they explore independent living options, equipped with assistive and remote technologies. This innovative concept offers a variety of ways people with developmental disabilities can create their independent life path through technology advancements.
