Gliding Stars is a pediatric therapy organization that provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to increase their personal potential through development of ice skating skills in a regular program of instruction and practice. The program is inclusive in terms of age, race, gender, and ability, and welcomes neurotypical siblings, family, or close friends to learn to skate alongside their peers with challenges. Located in Findlay, OH, Gliding Stars offers a unique approach to therapy that combines physical, emotional, and social benefits. With a focus on empowerment and independence, the program helps participants overcome limitations and achieve their goals. By providing a supportive community and specialized equipment, Gliding Stars helps individuals with disabilities to grow in health, fitness, and confidence, while having fun and making friends. Adaptive Ice Skating
Gliding Stars provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to increase their personal potential through development of ice skating skills in a regular program of instruction and practice.
Customized Skates and Adaptive Skating Equipment
Each skater is fitted with customized skates and other adaptive skating equipment, including helmets, harnesses, and walkers, all specially designed by Gliding Stars, Inc.
Weekly Lessons
Skaters participate in lessons each week during the season, paired with trained volunteers and directed by skilled skating instructors.
End-of-Season Ice Show
Skaters demonstrate their skills in a spectacular end-of-the-season Gliding Star Ice Show.
