Recognizing the limited opportunities for organized activities geared toward individuals with autism, the Foundation's main focus is to provide programs that meet this need on the East End. Through their efforts, they will also raise public awareness and understanding of autism, especially among the peers of children who have been diagnosed with the disorder. The Flying Point Foundation for Autism offers an eight-day summer camp for children with autism alongside their typical developing siblings and peers, as well as social and recreational events, scholarships, and teacher grants. Their future efforts will include creating a community lifelong learning center for those with autism and other developmental differences.
