Refuge Counseling of Arkansas was founded in 2018 by Adam Maisen, LPC-S, in Arkadelphia, AR, with a mission to provide a safe, welcoming environment for emotional healing and connection. After more than a decade working in agency mental health settings, Adam envisioned a counseling practice that felt home-like, accessible, and deeply personal, created around what clients truly need to feel seen and supported. Every therapist at Refuge Counseling is hand-selected and trained in experiential therapy, a research-based approach focused on strengthening and repairing meaningful relationships. The practice has expanded to include a second location in Hot Springs, AR, allowing them to serve an even broader community while staying true to their founding mission of offering exceptional, individualized therapy for individuals, couples, and families. With over 40 years of combined experience, their team has guided countless clients through some of life's most difficult moments, helping them navigate challenges and discover renewed hope, security, and strength.
