Refuge Counseling of Arkansas was founded in 2018 by Adam Maisen, LPC-S, in Arkadelphia, AR, with a mission to provide a safe, welcoming environment for emotional healing and connection. After working in agency mental health settings for over a decade, Adam envisioned a counseling practice that felt home-like, accessible, and deeply personal. Every therapist at Refuge Counseling is hand-selected and trained in experiential therapy, a research-based approach focused on strengthening and repairing meaningful relationships. The team has guided countless clients through difficult moments, and they understand the transformative power of safe connection. Refuge Counseling offers individualized therapy for individuals, couples, and families, and they have expanded to serve a broader community with a second location in Hot Springs, AR. With over 40 years of combined experience, the team is here to help navigate challenges and discover renewed hope, security, and strength.
