She earned her doctorate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and has extensive experience in cognitive rehabilitation and neuropsychological testing. Bonita has worked with families and patients affected by stroke, cognitive decline, and traumatic brain injury, as well as those struggling with physical and cognitive disabilities, behavioral disorders, and academic problems. Her therapeutic approach combines elements of cognitive behavioral and solution-oriented schools, focusing on an individual's thoughts, assumptions, and subsequent impact on mood and expectations. Bonita also considers the interplay between physical conditions and the mind. While she no longer performs in-person neuropsychological testing, she remains interested in neurodivergence and its effects on daily functioning and emotional comfort. In addition to her clinical work, Bonita explores various topics, including bi-directional influences between cognition and physiology, the human gut biome, and traditional modes of healing. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology.
