Resources for Human Development is a national human services nonprofit with the broadest possible service mission, and specializes in creating innovative, quality services that support people of all abilities wherever the need exists. Founded in 1970, RHD supports more than 115 human service programs across the country, serving tens of thousands of people every year with caring and effective programs addressing intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health, homelessness, addiction recovery, and more. Their mission is to provide caring, effective, and innovative services that empower people of all abilities as they work to achieve the highest level of independence possible and build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities. Resources for Human Development has been serving adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and helping them lead more fulfilling lives since 1972.
Behavioral Health
RHD's history of innovative services began in the behavioral health field, establishing Lower Merion Counseling & Mobile Services in 1970 in response to a community need for outpatient services.
Addiction Recovery
RHD recognizes there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to addiction recovery. RHD offers a variety of innovative person-centered and person-directed recovery plans that take into account where our clients are in their unique journey.
Homelessness
Resources for Human Development helps people of all ages and abilities find and maintain stable housing, providing a range of services from shelters and safe havens to supported independent living and nationally renowned case management services.
