Avis/South Shore Jewish Community Center was founded in 1929 with the mission of providing a home for the Staten Island Jewish community, where social, recreational, and educational activities could be enjoyed and shared. Over time, our mission has grown to include helping anyone who walks through our doors, making us a true community center for all of Staten Island. Our commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment has been unwavering since the day we opened our doors.
