Alternative Services, Inc. (ASI) is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 to help the State of Michigan transition to community-based services. ASI created some of the first specialized, barrier-free, group homes in the 1980s, many of which are still operating today. With over 300 consumers in 75 sites across Northern Michigan, ASI continues to strive for progressive approaches to true person-centered services. Our mission is to support people to experience meaningful lives, offering various levels of support in a variety of settings.
