Disability Rights Michigan

Disability Rights Michigan is the federally mandated protection and advocacy system for Michigan, receiving part of its funding from the HHS-Administration for Community Living, DOE-Rehabilitation Services Administration, HHS-Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration – Center for MH services, Social Security Administration, and the State of Michigan. They are an independent, private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization authorized by Federal and State law to advocate and protect the legal rights of people with disabilities in Michigan. Disability Rights Michigan's mission is to empower all to uphold the rights of people with disabilities, and their vision is a world where human rights are protected, and differences are celebrated. They serve individuals with disabilities in various areas, including eliminating abuse and neglect, increasing voting rights, and improving access to services and education.
