Wilfredo Guzman

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Orlando, Florida. I’m a native of New Jersey who has called Central Florida home for over 20 years. I completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. I also received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Nonprofit Organization Management from the University of Central Florida. Through lived experiences, direct client work, and education, I have come to learn that people experience trauma or severe life stressors that can lead to their lives unraveling.  I have experience servicing diverse populations such as at-risk youth, teenagers, those experiencing homelessness, people living with HIV, LGBTQ+ issues, addiction/substance misuse, aggressors of abuse, and victims of trauma and crime. I aim for the client and counselor to establish an emotional and social connection that supports people to explore solutions to their problems. I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual so I’m trained in various modalities focusing on evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapy. I invite potential clients to join in on a collaborative effort to explore mental wellness with an emphasis on increasing the quality of and satisfaction with life. When not working with people, you can find me relaxing near a body of water or socializing to build community.
