Walterson Torchon

Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 8 years of counseling experience. I have worked with individuals and families presenting with a wide range of concerns. I have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, loss, and with families in conflict. I have also worked with individuals struggling with various life transitions. I have counseled in mental health clinics with clients within criminal justice settings (adult and adolescent), and as a school-based therapist for teens. My counseling philosophy is that YOU are the expert of your own life; and therefore, you know BEST what you need. My approach is integrative, incorporating different therapeutic techniques to make sure that your specific concern is addressed in the way most effective for you. Our work together will always be person (you)- centered and strength-based; because, again, I truly believe that you have what it takes to succeed. My role is to guide and support you in building the skills and confidence necessary to accomplish whatever goals you have may have set for yourself. Together, we can deconstruct “stinking thinking” and unhealthy habits; and, replace them with healthy thought patterns and habits. Congratulations on taking the first step, seeking therapy.
