Tonya Wright-Hamilton

I am a licensed professional counselor living in Texas with 8 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. In my previous professional life, I worked over 15 years in the corporate world. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including, anxiety, body image, relationship issues, parenting problems, communication issues, self-identity, self-image, self-esteem, multicultural issues, and career challenges. I also helped many people who have experienced mental, physical and emotional abuse. Every individual has strength within them to grow and change. My counseling style is warm, sometimes direct and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and trauma-informed counseling. However, I am also a strong believer in one’s ability to choose, in addition to exploring their purpose in life. I will be willing to dive into existential or choice theory if necessary. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change.
