I am a licensed clinician in the states of Nevada, Colorado and Utah; currently residing in the great Salt Lake City. I have 16 years of experience in mental health and addictions, which have been with both adult and adolescent populations in outpatient and residential settings. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counselor Education, with a concentration in Community Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, in which the major focus of the program from which I received my master’s degree dealt with co-occurring issues. I hold licenses as a Clinical Professional Counselor (Nevada), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (Utah) and a Professional Counselor (Colorado). I primarily use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling. I have also completed a three-year training program in Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP) which focuses on somatic reactions to trauma, and am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I approach therapy from a client strength base and help to funnel through the underpinnings of your current event distress. I truly believe that a lot of what we deal with today is found in our past and assist in examining those roots and re-establish a new narrative, while finding some kind of relief through interventions and techniques of grounding, emotional regulation, and relaxation. Any kind of significant change means LOTS of ebbs and flows that I will be by your side through. I never ask someone I’m working with to do anything that I myself have not already done or continue to do myself. I’m just the co-pilot of this journey and it’s my honor to be a part of it.
