Shirin Tavakol

Hello! My name is Shirin and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I have 7 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have had experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues such as anxiety, depression, family/relationship conflicts, life transitions, immigrant/acculturation issues, and complex trauma/abuse. My commitment to work in the field of mental health comes from my personal experience with it. After migrate to USA , I struggled with anxiety, depression and adjusting to new environment. I know firsthand that how living with mental health difficulties are challenging, frustrated and lonely and how much life can get easier when you find right help and warm support. I use a person-centered, holistic, and integrative approach in treatment. I meet where my clients are and adjust the treatment approach to their needs while being sensitive to individual’s background and culture. I use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, eyes movment desensitization reprocessing, solution-focused counseling, and EFT. I strongly believe that together we can overcome your current problems, if you take the first step to invest on your wellness, and be patient and consistent in the process of become well mentally. I am currently available to provide services to those who need help including teenagers, young adults and women in all ages. Looking forward to see you here.
