I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the State of Washington. I have been working in the field of behavioral health for more than 10 years. Much of my experience has been working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, and co-occurring substance dependence. I also have extensive experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental differences, and people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For individuals facing LGBTQ+ stressors and issues, I have personal lived experience including navigating gender affirming healthcare. I believe in a strengths-based approach that is client centered and trauma informed. I will work with you to identify your goals, passions, and natural supports to use them in assisting you in feeling better and maintaining wellness. It is my experience that the best results come when a therapist and client work as a team, focusing on specific goals. It is the therapeutic alliance that yields healing and movement towards accomplishing goals. It’s been my experience and observation that feeling better is often a matter of learning and practicing new skills and habits, such as setting healthy boundaries; connecting with others; and learning how to soothe yourself when distressed, and turn down that dial of overwhelm when needed.
