Portia Hopkins

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Texas. I have 23 years of experience as a social worker including 3 years as a psychotherapist and life coach. I have worked with clients through a wide range of concerns including anger, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and life purpose. For 10 years I have worked with clients related to personal grief and loss and am recently certified in complex trauma treatment. My therapeutic style is that of an emotional crossing guard. I am committed to growing genuine, supportive and empathetic relationships through unconditional positive regard for the human experience. I believe people can be the experts in their own lives with some guidance and support. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, mindfulness and psychodynamic therapies.
