My counseling philosophy is simple, “It is okay, not to be okay”. Many of us do not completely understand this essential and fundamentally important concept. The Counseling field is not simply a career for me; however, counseling is a calling for me to serve those in need by promoting a process of change that brings guidance and healing. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and individualized care. I enjoy working with teenagers, ages 13 to 18, adults and married couples. My heart beats for those who are in pain. I take pleasure in assisting clients learn healthy and therapeutic tools to cope with life’s curve balls. As a Texas and Louisiana Certified School Counselor for almost 20 years, I have extensive experience with ARD/IEP procedures, 504 plans, behavior intervention plans, crisis intervention, suicidal ideation, suicidal risk assessments and destructive thoughts. I specialize in individual counseling, anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem, confidence, parenting guidance, physical and sexual trauma, marriage counseling and group therapy. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.
