Whatever your reasons for seeking counseling, I assure you that no issue is too big or too small to put it out there on the table. Going over it again and again in your own head can leave you feeling isolated and stuck. Through interaction there can be movement. In my psychotherapy practice in eastern Suffolk County, NY, I work with parents, teens, couples, families and the elderly. The goals are healing, clarity, self-empowerment, effectiveness in life, work and relationships, as well as a more authentic experience of the self, and a more heart-felt expression of self in the world. I help people understand and articulate their unique purpose. I approach clients from a strengths perspective – everything you need is already there; it’s never, EVER, too late to gain the clarity you seek and the life you want. Areas of expertise include teenage issues, parenting teens; marriage counseling, relationship and communication coaching (which can be done effectively with only one member of the relationship present); anxiety and depression; self-empowerment, self-esteem and identity expression; stress management and mindfulness; end of life and eldercare issues; family caregiver burnout; grief; issues around dementia; spirituality, finding the meaning of life. I earned my Master’s in Social Work at SUNY Stony Brook in 1996 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Fordham University in 1984. I received post-graduate training in Bowen’s Family Systems Therapy.
