I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for 20 years and I have extensive training in many populations, diversity, chronically mentally ill, and substance use disorders. My primary focus is here and now and identifying ways to incorporate new ideas and change in our lives. I use primarily cognitive and behavioral techniques with a focus on new neurological information as it relates to mental health. . Insight and reflection often needs to be mindful and in the present, allowing for our ability to identify appropriate needs and wants. The most important tool we have is an objective sense of self as well as an identity fitting with our culture and social needs. I work with the LGBTQ+ population have worked with gender and sexual orientation issues.
