I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHC-S) in North Carolina with nearly 30 years of professional experience. I specialize in supporting individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, abuse, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence issues. My approach is grounded in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can openly share their thoughts and emotions. Taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and joyful life takes courage, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively in public school settings, serving at both the elementary and high school levels as a counselor, educator, guest lecturer, and clinician. I have been a passionate advocate for adolescents, children, and families, particularly in underserved communities. My area of expertise includes the development of school-based mental health programs in high-poverty schools, a strategy aimed at reducing disparities in mental health care access for under-resourced youth. My academic book, The Handbook of Research on Trauma with Children: Working with High-Poverty Schools and Communities, was published in 2024 and reflects my commitment to this work. I’ve also expanded my trauma-focused practice to incorporate faith-based approaches, drawing on the Word of God to help individuals overcome the lingering effects of childhood trauma that can contribute to mental and physical health challenges in adulthood.
