One author wrote “It’s better to build boys than mend men.” While I agree whole-heartedly with this assertion this is not always the way life happens. There are multitudes of boys who are in need of mending and countless men who have already grown up without having anyone to build them or help them recover from their wounds. Obviously the home and the community are the ideal places for this to occur, but again we do not live in an ideal world and sometimes it is necessary to seek outside help. I provide counseling to boys and men, in order to offer help and healing, but also hope. I have been in the helping field for over 15 years and offering counseling for over 7 years. I take a holistic and eclectic approach to counseling, whether it be evaluating physical, mental/emotional, spiritual and/or social issues in order to work with clients to determine how they can best be helped.
