I have been in the helping profession for nearly 30 years, and have been a licensed counselor for 20. Now, more than ever, I see how the external factors of our world, a divided society, and a pandemic are weighing on people in unprecedented ways, creating real struggles in otherwise very well-functioning adults, due to job loss, anxiety about the future, relationship stressors, and mental fatigue from the constant bad news. I believe it is critical to have non-judgmental support during these times to help people cope and find the path forward in the most “well” way possible.
