Karey Thompson

I am licensed in Ohio with 16 years of professional work experience. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Masters in Social Work and I spent the first 13 years of my career working as a therapist in community mental health. This gave me a diverse treatment experience, working with adults, youth, and families in group and individual settings. I have also spent most of my career working with first responders, providing Critical Incident Debriefings, and I have spent the last three years working with members of the Ohio Army National Guard. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. In addition to my social work credentialing, I am also a 200-hour level yoga instructor with additional certifications in trauma-sensitive yoga and stand-up paddle board yoga. My approach to helping others is through a holistic lens that takes into consideration all aspects of a human-mind, body, and spirit; and, all aspects of the human experience-physical, relational, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. I believe in treating everyone with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
