I provide psychotherapy for adults working from a client-centered perspective that is integrative, collaborative, and recovery-based (i.e., incorporates client’s strengths as opposed to solely focusing on negatives or pathology). This provides a safe space for clients to feel heard, understood, and respected. I am a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and have extensive training and experience in working with clients with a trauma informed approach. I incorporate a recovery approach grounded in the 12-Steps for both addition recovery and ACOA/Al-Anon. I am also an expert in working with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and same sex attracted clients, and the unique psychological issues present in the community.
 I have been in practice since 1996 and I have worked with individuals in ages ranging from 18 to 85 years old. I support clients in building positive communication, fostering meaningful relationships, practicing appropriate social skills, utilizing healthy coping strategies, and to establish and maintain healthy boundaries within a culturally sensitive approach in order to generate lasting interpersonal change. 
I treat everyone with respect and warmth. I work to ensure that our sessions will be tailored to your needs and goals. I’m available for online therapy sessions with individuals anywhere in the states of Virginia and New Mexico. I graduated from Medical College of Virginia in 1994.
