Hello there! I am a licensed independent social worker in the District of Columbia. I have 10 years of experience working with persons experiencing anticipatory grief, grief, loss and death and dying. Grief is something we learn to live with, not “get over with.” There are so many complex emotions and feelings that accompany grief and loss- whether that be a loss of a loved one, job, dream, etc. I hope to help explore some of these emotions to assist you in understanding your grief and how you can honor and remember what was lost. I value truly listening and building rapport with my clients. My style is warm, interactive and hopefully promotes growth and self- exploration. I believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion an empathy. My approach is a mix of cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and cultural sensitivity. I will modify our conversations based on your specific goals and needs. I recognize the strength it takes to strive towards securing a more balanced and fulfilling life. Especially, the courage you exhibited by taking the first steps towards acknowledging and embracing the desire for change and growth. I am here to support, empower and accompany you on this journey! Look forward to working with you!
