Hello, and welcome to Better Help! If you are on this site you are probably seeking to change some things in your life that are challenging you. As you seek a therapist I would like to introduce myself and see if I may be a fit for you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina with over ten years of experience in therapy working in many different arenas in the mental health field. I have worked with clients who have struggled with addiction, the mental illness, the homeless population in an inner city, adults dealing with trauma. My counseling style is transparent, open, honest and focused on helping you with your needs and reaching your goals for seeking therapy. I offer a non-judgmental approach to each individual I work with, and appreciate the unique challenges that you bring to therapy with an understanding you are reaching out for help at a difficult time in your life. I value the courage that you bring to the session for the willingness to seek help. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I will engage with you at your pace and every session will be guided by you. I am also available to you via phone and text if that is more comfortable for you. A majority of my availability is in the evenings and on the weekends but I check messages at least once during each weekday. Reaching out to a stranger for help is difficult enough, but then the challenge of finding a counselor you connect with is another challenge. I understand these challenges and I would be honored to work with you through this stage of your life.
