HI, my name is Heather. I have experienced the benefits of counseling personally, and I understand the courage it takes to make the decision to take that first step, especially if the concept is new to you. My goal is to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for you. I work in a very empathic and non-judgmental manner. l I have worked in health care most of my life-first as an RN, and later as a Nurse Practitioner. I realized that many of my patients were struggling with stress, anxiety and depression, so I decided to become educated as a Psychotherapist. Since that time, I have been able to help many people suffering with these issues as well as those with PTSD. I have worked with people with traumas including those who have been sexually abused or assaulted. I use several therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, rapid resolution therapy, solution focused therapy and person centered therapy. I am also trained and certified as a life coach, which is helpful for people working on career goals as well as health issues and weight loss.
