Florence Simcoe

I have been a clinical social worker for over 40 years, working with children, adolescents and families. My experience ranges from providing therapy to children and adults, supervision and consultation to colleagues, program development and mentoring student interns. I specialize in child, adolescent and family therapy, trauma, child and adult ADHD, parenting, and blended families. I understand the ambivalence about asking for help and work hard to establish a comfort level with our first contact. I consider this to be a mutual interview designed to answer the following question: do you think we can work together and do I believe I can help. My treatment approach is individualized to you; we establish goals based on your needs; there will be a clear understanding of when those goals have been achieved. We will celebrate your accomplishments and collaborate on revising our treatment plan when progress is not being made. I tailor my psychotherapeutic approach to your needs and always bring always unconditional acceptance, respect and empathy to our session. In conclusion, I count myself lucky to be doing what I consider my passion after 40 something years. My enthusiasm for my work has never abated. You are not a case file, patient number or “my 2:00 appointment.” I will treat you the way I would want to be treated. This is my promise to you.
