I have experience helping people who are or have been in a relationship with a narcissistic partner or who were part of an environment that made them feel suffocated and not being seen. Patients who were exposed to a emotionally toxic environment can feel how it freezes their emotional growth. Working on liberating one’s psyche one realizes how resiliency sets in helping to brave inner toxicity daily. It’s a quiet strength that appears as emotional growth proceeds. I use a psychodynamic approach, I admire the work of Philip Bromberg, Donald Winnicott, Francoise Dolto, Paul Claude Racamier, Christopher Bollas. During a session I focus on identifying dynamics, if I may say so, they appear as emotional footprints. A patient who feels controlled by their emotions gradually acquires tools to manage and understand their suffering in order to obtain more emotional freedom.
