I am dual licensed as both a marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I use a client centered approach to counseling, bringing in other theoretical approaches (i.e., CBT, DBT, Narrative) as necessary for an individual’s concerns. I believe strongly in a powerful client/therapist alliance with unconditional positive regard for my clients. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. I have worked with individuals from 4 to 85 across numerous mental health issues. I have been doing grief, loss and trauma counseling for more than 20 years, as well as significant experience with PTSD/Trauma/Acute Stress in both military and private individuals. I hold 2 advanced certifications in complex clinical trauma and suicide prevention. I will will ensure that our dialog and treatment planning is done to to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe that no one should ever have to suffer alone. I am here for you. I have extensive experience working with the military population and families. I believe that everyone has the power within themselves to achieve wellness – we just need to identify and unlock that power. Sometimes we live our lives in chains and never even know we have the key. I believe it takes courage and a hope for a better, happier, and more fulfilling life to take those first steps towards positive change.
