I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from University of Northern Colorado. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Addictions Counselor. Since 2011, I have worked in community mental health providing treatment for clients who are facing issues with depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, and relationship problems. I teach people skills that can assist in managing intrusive thoughts that can lead to depression and anxiety. I enjoy helping clients find ways to improve their lives and watching their personal growth during the course of treatment. I listen to people’s struggles and try to help them find ways to learn to cope with, change, or improve their situation in order to help people move forward with their lives. Because I also have a background in treating addiction, I am happy to help provide guidance and support around those facing this very difficult issue. I have run DBT groups for 6 years and it’s a framework that I use in individual counseling as well. I find it incredibly helpful for people to have a set of healthy coping skills to manage their stressors. I tend to meet clients where they’re at so we an work together to help them move forward and meet their goals. Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy reading, running, and hiking. These are some of the ways I practice my own self care. I enjoy being able to challenge myself to read more books and run more miles! I look forward to working with you to help you feel happier, healthier, and stronger.
