Daniel Blanchette

Dan holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Portland State University. Before moving to Portland, Dan worked as a disc jockey, special education teacher and served in the United States Army. Dan has more than 20 years of experience serving diverse populations including military veterans, victims of trauma and individuals with developmental disabilities. His career has included roles as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, residential case manager, behavioral health provider, and a clinical specialist for a national suicide prevention hotline. Dan has consulted in court cases, worked in primary care, inpatient treatment, and emergency departments. Modalities utilized in counseling include CBT, ACT, Mindfulness and Client Centered Therapy. He believes that offering respect and a safe environment are critical for a patient to feel that their stories and experiences have been heard and valued.
