Christyn Jaap

Hi, I am Christyn “Christy” Jaap, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am licensed in Texas with 5 years of counseling experience. I have also worked in the school setting for 8 years, first as a teacher and coach then as a counselor. I have found I really enjoy working with children and adolescents, as they struggle with many issues that are tough to work through. These issues may include self-esteem, confidence, motivation, trauma, abuse, and relationship issues. Although I have worked with children and adolescents quite a bit, I enjoy working with adults as well. I have experience working with clients who need help with working through trauma, abuse, self-perception, relationship issues, grief, and loss. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change.
