Greetings! My name is B. Tucker Savant, MA, LPC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Louisiana. I have worked in the mental health field for 11+ years in both inpatient and outpatient settings with adolescents and adults. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, change, grief and loss, relationship struggles, occupational struggles, and post-traumatic stress. I see counseling as a process in which you, the client, and I, the Counselor, develop trust in one another in order to work together to identify and define present problems and past conflicts, develop long and short term goals for life improvements and work as a team to achieve those goals. My goal is to assist people in working towards fulfilling their fullest potential by guiding them through their challenges in order to develop new and healthier insights and perspectives on their lives. My approach to counseling can be seen as eclectic, as I use various counseling techniques depending on the individual traits of each client and the circumstances through which each client is going. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Reality Therapy encompass the majority of how our sessions will be conducted. I believe that thoughts, emotions and behaviors interactively influence each other and that it is important for each client to focus on the present to understand what he or she can and cannot do directly and to realize that the only person whose behavior and thoughts he or she can control are his or her own.
